A specialist marine-debris program at West Coast Landfill. Ask about recovered rope, netting, hard-plastic buoys and white foam; each depot has its own acceptance limits.

An ACRD membership sheet describes free eligible volunteer beach-cleanup returns. Current eligibility and commercial or large-volume charges must be confirmed; this is not a blanket free drop-off.

Before you go

  • Contact the Ucluelet depot to arrange membership and approval for your materials before visiting.
  • Use the operator’s sorting guide. Keep accepted categories separate, remove standing water and use the specified storage bags.
  • The guide excludes household soft-plastic packaging, coloured foam, glass, fibreglass, PVC/ABS pipe, batteries, hazardous waste, liquids, wood and metal.
  • Ask specifically about dock floats, crab pots, tyres, wetsuits and large commercial loads; a network-wide list does not establish Ucluelet acceptance.
